BBQ another sell out – July 2017 HIBC Report by Dave Stanway
At the time of writing, there is only a handful of tickets remaining for this years Northney farm BBQ featuring ABBAGirls. Clearly a top favourite as seen on Hayling last year, and recently also appearing in New York and Seoul, and soon to be appearing on TV, the following is a publicity quote from the band.
ITV have commissioned a new programme that will go out on prime time Saturday night TV about the Entertainment business!
“Our band are featured in the programme! When I asked the producer why did you pick us? She replied “We went to see dozen’s of tribute bands and thought we are the best” Very flattered, guess our 22 years in the game is paying off?
We do have some prime dates left this year so if your looking for an Abba show or our Musicals show give us a call please.”
Performing all the great Abba hits, they will be on stage for a total of 90 minutes (performed in two forty-five minute sessions). Everyone knows and loves the ABBA classics, from Dancing Queen, Mama Mia, Fernando and many more, they are a sure way to get everyone on their feet. 70’s themed dress is welcome should you really want to get into the swing of things.
There are stalls and games, food includes burgers, hot dogs, a fully licenced bar with beers on tap and wine by the bottle or glass, and our usual beef joint that we call ‘the beast’. The night’s entertainment is supplemented by our regular DJ and we always end the night with good old dance.
As always thanks go to Stan, Mary and the rest of the Pike family for their continued support and allowing the use of the farmland to host the event.
Raffle tickets will be on sale both before and at the event with some excellent prizes including an overnight break for two at the exclusive 4 star Langstone Hotel, a Warner Hotels holiday voucher worth £200, Sunday Lunch at Sinah Warren for up to 12 persons and an LG 24” widescreen smart LED TV. These are just some of the prizes on offer see any club member for more details or buy your tickets on the night.
We are currently looking for new members. The club name can be a little misleading as it is not necessary to be a Businessman to join. Anyone with time and the interest to be part of a club with the Ethos of helping the less fortunate on Hayling Island can apply for membership. In addition to aiding this worthwhile cause through the planning and arranging of fund raising events, there are member social gatherings throughout the year. The combination of these activities enables members to build close relationships, and find friends for life. For further information please email recruitment@hibc.org.uk contact any club member.
