2017 – December Report

A Great Evening Pig Racing – Nov 2017 HIBC Report by Dave Stanway

Saturday November 18th saw the annual Pig Racing evening get under starter’s orders. Over a hundred locals enjoyed a fun packed event as the pigs raced several feet along the track in pursuit of each other. After several exciting races, we all enjoyed a Chilli supper before the second half of the racing commenced. Raffle prizes were donated by club members and local businesses and at the end of the evening the piggy’s themselves were auctioned off.

November 15th saw our annual Christmas party for the senior citizens at Sinah Warren, where 300 of our local seniors were treated to tea and cake whist being entertained by the staff to a rendition of Jack & the Beanstalk followed by local vocal harmony trio ‘Timeless’, singing several Christmas themes tunes. Timeless can also be seen at the Langstone Hotel on Feb 24th 2018.

Reserve Saturday 14th July 2018 for next summer’s BBQ at Northney Farm, planning is already in progress, dress up for the ‘Summer Night’ and go ‘Greased Lightning’ at our ‘Grease’ themed Rock & Roll spectacular featuring the fabulous Diamond band. Tickets will be available around April next year from the usual outlets and club members.

HIBC members wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We are currently looking for new members. The club name can be a little misleading as it is not necessary to be a Businessman to join. Anyone with time and the interest to be part of a club with the Ethos of helping the less fortunate on Hayling Island can apply for membership. In addition to aiding this worthwhile cause through the planning and arranging of fund raising events, there are member social gatherings throughout the year. The combination of these activities enables members to build close relationships, and find friends for life. For further information please email recruitment@hibc.org.uk or contact any club member.
